Jason Meyer

Jason Geoffrey Meyer, age 50, of Chicago, born on July 21, 1974, passed away peacefully on October 15th, 2024.

Beloved son of Nancy and the late Richard, loving brother of Laura (Rob) Newman and Annie Meyer , proud uncle of Brendan and Jackson Newman, favorite dog dad of Gertie and Molly; beloved nephew of Cathy & Tim O’Connor, nephew and best friend of Laura O’Connor, chosen nephew of Terri Hanrahan, favorite cousin of Timmy & Colleen O’Connor and  Rita Greer and many more, fond friend of so very, very many who shared over a decade of love with his husband, Jason Evers.

As a true caregiver, Jason took pride in his career as a nurse and in his roles as a dedicated son and doting uncle. As a true friend, Jason took pleasure in sharing the funniest stories about his patients, friends and nephews, and his quick wit and brilliant delivery will simply never be matched.

Jason leaves countless friends around the world and enjoyed frequent visits to new places and familiar faces , always returning with stories of his incredible, often impromptu, travels.  No matter where, his greatest times were spent with the ones he loved the most. And Uncle Jason could always be counted on for some new Nikes, which he probably liked picking out even more than his nephews liked showing them off.

Whether it was for new shoes, a great story, an unexpected gift, a call from the car, or a level head in a tough situation, you could count on Jason. His laughter and presence are already terribly missed, but his legacy of friendships, loyalty and love will endure forever.
