Marico Paul Nambo Jr, affectionately known as “Rick,” peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, November 08, 2024, at the age of 78.
Born June 2, 1946 in Chicago, IL to the late Marico Paul Nambo Sr. and the late Kathryn (Kral) Brown. Rick retired from Yellow Freight in 2011 as a proud member of the Local 705 Union. He was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 35 years. Rick was always a hard worker, very caring, and went out of his way to serve those in need. He was loved and respected by many. Rick enjoyed celebrating holidays and birthdays with his family and close friends. He was very active, loved being handy around the house, boating, golfing, shooting pool, gardening, and grabbing coffee, a meal, or dessert with his close friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol (Skeels) Nambo; his four children, Michelle (Jean) Armand, Mark Nambo, Sara (Jeff) Kuzma, and Jenny (Scott) Hansen; his 2 stepchildren, Kristin (Former Husband Doug) McDaniel and Bradley (Beth) Waitkus; ten grandchildren, Cooper, Maisie, Dane, Brady, Isla, Lily, Levi, Ben, Luke, and Nicholas; his sister, Janice Nambo; two nieces and a nephew, Jeanette (John) Korosa, Janine (Ron) Mickula, and Charlie (Heide) McDaniel; as well as many grand-nieces & grand-nephews. He was preceded in passing by niece Janet (Bobby) Vosatka.
A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at the Hinsdale Community House located at 415 W. 8th Street, Hinsdale IL 60521 on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 from 1:30pm – 4:00pm where his family and friends will share memories of his life.
Though he will be greatly missed, we ask that you remember the time we had with him. As he would say, “Be good,” “So long.”
