Patrick K. Stanton, age 65, of Western Springs passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024 surrounded by his family. For 39 years, Pat was a devoted and loving husband to Mary Ann (née Gallagher) and the proud, loving father of Michael (Mary Kate) Stanton & Kate (Matthew Madsen). Raised in a large Irish-American family, Pat is preceded in death by parents Harold (Retired Captain, CPD) & Mary Celeste Stanton, his brother Daniel Stanton, infant brother Michael T., and nephews Tommy Grady & Kevin Quinlan. He is fondly remembered by his siblings Sheila (Larry) Marshall, Eileen (Bob) Quinn, Colleen (Jerry Casey, MD) Quinlan, Teresa (Emmett, DDS) Grady, Peggy (Michael) Schmit, Celeste (Kevin) Alcock, Noreen (Chris) Janson, Michael (Lisa), and sister-in-law Sheila Stanton. Pat was beloved by his late parents-in-law, Ginger and Gene Gallagher, as well as his sisters-in-law Kathleen Gallagher & Maureen (Mike) Feeley; as well as his 36 nieces and nephews.
Pat found friends everywhere he went and was a pillar in each of his communities. Raised in Sauganash, he was a proud graduate of Queen of All Saints, Loyola Academy, and Marquette University. He was a highly respected CPA who worked across multiple industries. Pat raised his family in Western Springs and was a prominent member of the St. John of the Cross Parish community, where he served as an usher for over 25 years.
Pat maintained an incredibly strong faith and had a great fondness for his Irish heritage, both of which he instilled in his children. He was known as a true peacemaker and a friend to all. He held his close friends very dear to his heart. Nothing was more important to Pat than his tight-knit family. His ultimate joy was being Mary Ann’s husband and Mike and Kate’s dad and he treasured every moment they spent together. Pat’s legacy will live on through them.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 5th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Pat was a giant of a man. He will be missed by so many people. It was an honor to spend time with him as a fellow Indian Princess dad, when Kate and our daughters were part of that program. May his spirit be one with the Great Spirit. Sign of the Buffalo!
Our thoughts and prayers are with Mary Ann, Mike, and Kate
I am so saddened to hear of Pat’s passing. I remember him palling around with my brother Matt and getting into all the usual age appropriate mischief. He was always so cheerful and up for anything. My thoughts are with all Pat’s sisters who all grew up in Sauganash.
My deepest condolences to your entire family. I haven’t known him for long but he made me feel like a life long friend. He will be missed by everyone that was lucky enough to have known him. I will keep you all on my prayers.
Eileen, so very sorry on the passing of you brother. Having lost 2 brothers recently my heart is heavy for you and your family. May your memories comfort all of you. Much love, my friend. Milly
Wishing peace, comfort and my deepest sympathy to the entire Stanton family.
Heartfelt and prayerful condolences from the Chicago Police Chaplains. At the request of Pat Quinn, Pat will be remembered at the next Police Mass.

“Pat from the gym” was a newer friend to me, having only met him about three years ago. We probably talked more than we worked out, but I enjoyed him tremendously. What a beautiful person! Rest in peace.
Mary Ann and family – I am so deeply sorry for the loss of Pat. Please know that my thoughts are with you during this difficult time. My heart aches for you as you navigate this loss but I am sure your heart is full of amazing memories you will cherish forever.
