Amanda M. Baratka
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Amanda M. Baratka, age 38, on December 23rd 2024.
Amanda is survived by her son Caelob and daughter Taetym; her father, John C. Baratka; her mother, Pamela A. Baratka; her sister, Sarah Ann (Austin) Harris; her brother, Jack (Tricia) Baratka; and her nieces, Amiya, Marlee, Avery, and Maci.
Amanda was a devoted mother who was relentlessly compassionate for her family. She lived with selflessness and care to bless every person involved in her life. Amanda enjoyed spending time reading, cooking, and staying involved in Caelob and Taetym’s hockey teams. Amanda always wanted to do everything she could to help others through hard times.
She was devoted to improving the lives of people around her. Her memory provides strength to those who loved her and will live on in good spirits.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4th, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 301 75th St., Downers Grove with a memorial service at 6:00 PM. Additional info: (630) 964-6500
I knew her through taetym and though i’ve only met her a few times she was always kind. I could tell she was her children’s best friends. she was a beautiful soul.
