Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Sister
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marie Pristo, age 92, of Burr Ridge, IL, on January 6, 2025. Marie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, whose warmth, kindness, and joy for life touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Born on May 28, 1932, Marie was the cherished daughter of the late Walter and Antonette Byland. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willard Pristo, with whom she shared many years of love and partnership.
She spent her life surrounded by family, and her greatest joy was seeing her loved ones thrive and spend time together. She leaves behind her beloved son, Joseph Pristo, and was preceded in death by her daughter Gale Wroblewski.
Marie is survived by her grandchildren: Nick, Jen, Steph, Jorie, and her adored great-grandchildren: Connor, Chase, Maddy, Sylvia, Sophia, Rosie, JT, and Elise. She is also survived by her sister Audrey Wiaranowski, and nephews Ken and Kyle.
Marie’s heart was always full when she was surrounded by her family, especially her great-grandchildren. She delighted in spoiling them with love and gifts, making each birthday and holiday celebration special.
A passionate sports fan, Marie cheered fervently for the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears, never missing an opportunity to share her excitement for the games. Her love of life extended to the many vacations and trips she took with her daughter and granddaughters, as well as the treasured memories created with her family at Lake Redstone.
Above all, she cherished the moments when her entire family could be together, celebrating life and creating memories that will last forever.
Marie’s spirit will live on in the hearts of her family, and she will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Visitation: Thursday, January 9th 8:30-9:30 AM at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W 55th Street, Countryside.
Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, January 9th 10:00 AM at St. Cletus Church, 600 W 55th Street, LaGrange.

Marie “Busha” Pristo, will be missed, but never forgotten! She was a great lady who loved, and led a great life as the “Rock” of the families!
Although she had her health struggles in recent years…we will always remember those good times, and happiness that she always shared with whomever family member she was in contact with…as she loved us all. ❤️ My wife and I, are grateful to have been a part of her life.
