Kenneth C. Krasin

Kenneth C. Krasin, age 79, passed away on January 29, 2025.
On February 17th, 1945, Ken was born in Morgan City, LA. He grew up on the Southwest side of Chicago, graduated from Morgan Park High School and continued his education at Bradley University receiving his BS in Engine Power Technologies. He married the love of his life, Carol Farina, on July 6th, 56 years ago. They raised 3 amazing children. Kim (Chris) Conoboy, Rich (Ellen) Krasin and Barb (Mike) Cunningham. He, then, became the best “papa” to 7 wonderful grandkids, Jake and Lily Conoboy, Kates, Emily, and Nico Krasin, and Abby and Deglan Cunningham. Throughout his 44 year career, he worked diligently to make his family’s lives special.
He owned his own business working as a manufacturer’s representative and was able to work with all of his children during his career. His work was not just work, it was his passion. He treated his customers as his friends and enjoyed the travel his work afforded him on regular trips to Europe and Japan.
In his free time, Ken found joy in riding his Harleys and collecting and working on his car collection which included Model A’s, T’s and other assorted makes and models. He also enjoyed performing magic, woodworking, and feeding birds. He cherished “Lake Life” and spending time with his family at the lake house whether skiing, BBQing and relaxing on his pontoon boat or watching sunsets from the pier. Ken was known for his humor and constant joking. Every person in the world was just a friend he hadn’t met yet.
Ken’s belief was “Every Day is a little Different” and he lived that way.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Sunday February 2nd at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 301 75th St., Downers Grove, where the funeral service will also be held at 10 a.m. on Monday February 3rd. So stunned to hear of this loss. Ken was always so full of fun and vitality I was quite surprised to learn his age. I learned a number of things from him and it was always a pleasure to see and chat with him. We will miss him so much.
Carol:
So sorry for your loss. Ken’s wit and humor were always a bright light drawing people to him. He always had a story or two to entertain you and we will miss his middle of the night butt dials. Will be keeping you in our prayers.
Carol and Family,
We are so saddened to hear of Ken’s passing. He was a very special guy, an interesting and sharing one. We enjoyed our conversations and camaraderie at the ‘Lake house’, the food and drinks. He loved to talk about his cars and boats, and family, his travels and friends. We can only hope the great memories will carry you through these hard times and comfort you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Ken was my favorite Krasin cousin💜. I can still hear his voice so full of mirth and warmth. I wish for you, Carol and your family comfort by all the precious memories of Ken. Remembering Ken makes me smile.
I was so sad to hear of Ken’s passing. I really liked working with him for so many years.
