  1. Tom Stack was one of the finest human beings Ive known: smart and wise, generous, faith-filled, kind, soft-spoken, patient and so easy to be with. He was a trusted and much appreciated advisor for many years. He added to the quality and integrity of our lives. May he know the eternal perfect creation we are promised in the presence of our good God now.
I’m so sorry for the empty spot Tom leaves in the Stack family now,and I wish you God’s endurance and healing. Peace…

  4. Tom was one of our closest friends for over 30 years – he was always easy to be with, he always made interesting conversation, he cared about others’ well being, he had a remarkable memory for family details that we shared with him, and he was always reachable whenever we needed a friendly face to talk to. He was the truest definition of a close friend, as there is. We cannot put into words how much we will miss him. He is in a better place now, and our thoughts and prayers will be with him, and his family.
Rest in Peace, Tom. You were truly one of our dearest friends.

  5. Ilene and I were two of Tom’s accounting clients for over 30 years. Tom was always a steadying hand in turbulent times. We greatly appreciated his advice and all the help he provided as we navigated changing financial circumstances and an ever-evolving tax code. He was an important fixture in our lives, and we will miss him.

  8. I met Tom Stack when I was in 8th grade playing basketball 🏀 against older high school boys at Kellog School after recently moving to Beverly. I never heard Tom swear as was the custom of the day playing basketball. He just played competitively. There were no drinking fountains attached Kellog school. He walked me over to Phil Doran’s house and we drank cold water from the hose. He told me then, “Just be a gentleman and alway say thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Doran and you will always fit in with Beverly people since you just moved in a couple of years ago and were not aware of all the kindness in Beverly”. Those were the words to live by growing up…

  9. It’s impossible to put into words what Tom meant to me and all of us. Everyone I called to inform them of Tom’s passing said: “Tom was a great guy!” Yes he was, and I was so lucky to have him as a friend. I’m totally grateful to his family that supported and helped him for so long to try to beat his illness.
I will continue to pray and have Masses said for the repose of his soul hoping to get him to heaven soon.

  10. To Jim Stack and the family,

  11. What sad news. I can recall in the early days drinking at Reilly’s Daughter (when I did not have the proper IDs – though I am certain Tom did) with Tom and his brother Marty. Tom has done my taxes since he started his own company a zillion years ago. What a wonderful person. Looks like heaven got their angel back. Im just glad I got to spend a little time with him.

My deepest sympathies to Tom’s family

  12. Condolences to the Stack family on Tom’s passing…I enjoyed a cup of coffee with Tom…A gentleman and a gentle man…you managed your health issue with dignity and resolve and a positive spirit…
You enriched the lives of people in your orbit…
Rest In Peace brother, Rest in Peace

  13. Love and hugs to the Stack family, Tom’s clients, friends, and fellow volunteers. I just this moment learned he had gone home to God and would certainly have been there for you had I known earlier today. May you be comforted knowing he sees the face of God … and lives.

  14. I’ve been part of the Stack family for over 40 years. Having worked with Tom Sr at the Municipal Pension Board, I got to love all the members of the beautiful Stack family. Like his wonderful parents, Tom was truly someone special. Soft spoken and always dignified, he embodied the very essence of what anyone would want in a son, brother and friend. He was a soft, kindly, thoughtful, dependable soul……but a Rock as a friend. When I got the call early on about his illness, I managed to get him in to a special medical program at MD Anderson in Houston. I think the good doctors there extended is life several years. I know how much the Stack family will miss their brother and life guide. I pray all their beautiful memories will comfort them during these very painful full and difficult times. He is certainly in a much better and more peaceful place.
