Diane Elizabeth Carey

Diane Elizabeth Carey, age 78, of Darien and formerly of Berwyn; devoted wife for 20 years and dear friend of Robert “Bob” Carey; loving mother of Margaret Carey, Julie Mclellan, Patricia (Steve) Myers, Robert (Elizabeth) Carey, & Daniel (Alicia) Carey; proud grandmother of 12 and great-grandmother of 3; dear sister of the late George (the late Belkis) Plancon, the late Barbara (the late Thomas) Hyland, James (Mary Ellen) Plancon, Karen (the late Jerry) Lewis, & Paul (Lindsay) Plancon; dear aunt & cousin of many.

Special recognition to her dear friend and caregiver of many years, Noelia Estrada, and granddaughter Lillie Mclellan; both of whom gave so much time, energy, and love over the last few years to ensure Diane’s peace, joy, and comfort.

One may say that Diane’s purpose in life was to love, guide, and protect her children while ensuring they had the happiest lives she could possibly provide. Having been a Girl Scout leader, she instilled in them a love for nature and the great outdoors, and an everlasting pursuit for adventure. She was truly one of a kind.

  1. I love you so much, Mom. I told you that a million times, but I could tell you a million more. You are the best mother I could have ever hoped for. Rest now, Momma, and be with God. I’ll be with you again one day and we can go fishing or take a road trip like we used to ❤️ I’ll spend the rest of my life telling the kids about our great adventures, and showing others the love and kindness you showed me.
