  1. I didn’t get to spend much time with VoLo in person, but stories of his and my folks’ college days were the stuff of legend in our home. The time I did get to spend with him (when he came to visit us with Tom), were full of laughter, sometimes unbelievably tall tales, and seeing my parents beyond happy to be with their dear friends. I’m so heartbroken to know that there won’t be new VoLo stories to tell, but I’ll will take comfort in the knowledge that their friendship helped me to know what a good friend looked like. I know in my heart that he knew that all the Johnsons loved him–even Chucky. We are holding you all in our hearts, and keeping you lifted in prayer. He was a good, GOOD man and he will be missed.

  2. I am deeply saddened and heartbroken by this news. My sincere condolences to Gary’s family.

I spent a majority of my IT career working alongside Gary. He was smart – really smart and also really funny. He carried a lot of wisdom that he bestowed upon me. We had a lot of dinners together working second shift. He always made sure to save me food and/or let me know which floors at work had the free food. Gary was a friend, co-worker and at times, a father to me and part of the reason I excelled in the workforce.

Gary was always surrounded by love and laughter. He was full of jokes – some funny and some more less, but he still made us smile.

You will be deeply missed my dear friend.
