In loving memory of Craig Alan Benes. Beloved husband of Lisa Benes and cherished father of Margaret Benes and Brett Benes. Loving son of Carol and the late James Benes. Fun-loving brother of Cynthia (Douglas) Marks, James (Elizabeth) Benes, Kimberly (David) Cryer and Cristian (Martha) Benes.  Craig was a dear uncle to 17 nieces and nephews, and great-uncle to 15 great-nieces and nephews. Craig grew up in Hinsdale. Even growing up, Craig always loved going fishing. Anytime he could get out, he always would love to get out on the water. He also was an avid music listener. Ask him any sort of music question, he would always have the answer. When Craig and family moved to Lockport, Craig found his happy place in his garden outside. Many years of homemade things that all came from his garden. Pumpkins, pickles and so much more. He also was the go-to family mechanic. Anytime he was needed, he always was right there. Even if it was to rescue someone from off the side of the expressway. Craig definitely was one of a kind and will hold a special place in everyone’s heart.  There will be a Memorial Visitation on Saturday, May 3^rd, 2025 from 10am until Memorial Service at 12 Noon at Trinity Lutheran Church, 11500 German Church Road, Burr Ridge, Illinois 60527.  Inurnment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Trinity Lutheran Church (address above) appreciated.  Arrangements entrusted to Hallowell & James Funeral Home, Downers Grove, Illinois at 630/964-6500.
