William J. Ducey, age 77, departed this life on August 3, 2014 in Michiana Shores, IN. Bill was preceded in eternal rest by his beloved wife and best friend of 51 years, Patricia, and is survived by Michael (Olga) Ducey, Dara (Robert) Randerson, Claire (Bud) Bach, Mary (Ulrich) Lohrmann and Patricia (Michael) Miller and 16 grandchildren. Bill lived in LaGrange, IL since relocating from Milton, MA in 1983. Born in Huntington, NY to William and Brigid Ducey, Bill is survived by sister Margaret (Byrne) of Huntington, NY, and joins sisters Mary, Madeline and Anne. Bill was Uncle to many on both sides of our family and friend to all he ever met. Bill attended Siena College and earned a B.S. in Economics, joined the U.S. Marine Corps, and was honorably discharged in 1960. Bill and Pasty were married in 1961 and began family life together on Long Island. Bill worked briefly in public service before a long, successful sales career on the East Coast and later nationally. Bill joined American Maize Product Co. in 1972 as a local representative and later was promoted to Vice President of Sales, for Cerestar. Bill made countless friends of business associates until his retirement in 1999. In LaGrange, Bill participated in many volunteer organizations including: Community Nurse Association, Meals-on-Wheels, the American Cancer Society and others through St. Francis Xavier. Bill recently lived in North Port, FL, enjoying friends and social activities, returning this summer to the family home in Michiana Shores. Visitation 3-8pm Thursday Aug. 7th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside.
