David Daniel Hinman

David Daniel Hinman; age 89; US Navy Veteran; of Bensenville, IL; formerly of Countryside, IL and Ocala, FL. Beloved husband of Mary A. Hinman (nee Buretz) for a wonderful 68 years. Loving father of Karan (David) Powell, Paul (Janice) Hinman, and David (Debbie) Hinman. Devoted grandfather of nine. Dear great-grandfather of nine. Fond brother of Walter (Maureen) Hinman and Martha (late James) Michaud. Uncle of many. David was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Anna Hinman; a cherished grandchild, Meloni; and brothers and sisters, Charles (Lois) Hinman, George Hinman, Mary (Adam) Schafer, Ruth (Corniel) Gatliff, and Katherine (LeRoss) Orwig. David worked for the Chicago Transit Authority for 35 years. David was a longtime member at the American Legion, the Loyal Order of the Moose in Florida, Holy Name Society, and The Knights of Columbus. He also cared for the sick and elderly, and was involved with prison ministry at Blessed Trinity Church in Ocala, FL. He loved sports; coached football teams for his sons, Paul and David; loved golf; and enjoyed the good life. Above all, David loved his family, faith, and friends, as they were of the upmost importance to him. Memorial Visitation 4:00 to 9:00 PM Monday, March 9th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Family and friends to gather on Tuesday, March 10th, directly at St. Cletus Catholic Church, 600 W. 55th St., La Grange, for 11:30 AM Memorial Mass. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at stjude.org or the Central Association of the Miraculous Medal at cammonline.org.   1. My heart is sad, not for Uncle Dave, but for the void he has left behind.
    He could always put a smile on your face. Even now, knowing how strong his Faith was, there is certain comfort knowing he is in Heaven; and with no doubt, having FUN – for his quick wit surely went with him.
    He is greatly missed and will always be lovingly remembered!
