Catherine A. “Cookie” Hofstetter (nee Seibert); beloved wife of 54 years to the late Richard J. “Dick” Hofstetter; loving mother of Christine (Richard) Martinez, the late Kathleen (Thomas) Kriz, and Melissa (Eric) Westerhoff; loving and adored grandmother of Kyle (Michelle), Kevin (Jennifer), Alec, Conor, Dylan, Braden, and Katherine; great-grandmother of Kris, Maxwell, and Alex. Richard and Catherine enjoyed over 55 years of being together, traveling, and loving life and each other, along with their family and friends. Visitation 9:30am to 10:30am Friday, Dec. 04 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Group limits and social distancing measures are in place. Masks required. Funeral Mass to follow, 11am at St. Francis Xavier Church, LaGrange. Attendees must register prior to Mass at www.signupgenius.com/go/409044DAAA72EA2F94-cookie .   1. Oh, Missy, I’m so sorry to hear this news. Your Mom was a staple in the neighborhood and all the kids knew her. She was happiest being with her family and doing things with you guys. She and your dad were two pees in a pod and I always loved seeing them across the fence. Peace and love to You, Missy.

  2. Cookie was a sweet, funny person. I feel so fortunate to have known her. My sincere condolences to her family. She will be greatly missed.

  3. The memories of being at all the family get together’s at your mothers house will never be forgotten. Plus spending time in Florida this last October with you and your mother was a wonderful few days.

  4. I met Cookie through bowling. We had some great times and memorable moments (and a lot of laughs). Even after she stopped bowling she would come with and enjoy in the fun. Most recently, Madeline would bring Cookie to visit on Fridays while we bowled and then we would all go and eat and enjoy her company. Cookie was a classy lady. I will miss her smiling face.

  5. We loved seeing Cookie at our quarterly gatherings of the Rhine River cruise. Her face and laugh are forever embedded in my heart. Wishing you comfort, Vivian

  7. We did love seeing Cookie at our quarterly meetings of the “River Gals.” She was a loving and gentle Person who will be greatly missed. She has been blessed to have such a wonderful family that

  8. Cookie and I shared a great journey through the years. Always good times and lots laughs. She was ready to go anywhere and do anything even if it was simply looking out at the water at Maple Lake. I’ll miss the “Munchkin”. RIP dearest friend, Cookie.

  10. I only knew Cookie for about 12 years – from our Rhine River Cruise… I will miss our get-togethers! She was so much fun to know.
    We missed our reunions in 2020 because of Covid so my memories must last forever.

  11. I have known Cookie for more than 60 years. She never was without a smile. Always very cheerful. I am going to miss all the breakfasts and lunches. Cookie was always ready to go out anytime and anywhere. I am so glad she got to go with Katy and Missy on her trips. I will miss her dearly.

    1. I am another friend from the riverboat… Cookie was so special in so many ways. Wonderful company and a really big heart! She really knew how to light up a room! I will really miss her. My thoughts and prayers to the family at this most difficult time.
