Anthony J. Malcak

Anthony J. Malcak passed away on March 8, 2021.

He was married to his beloved wife Lois (deceased) for 65 years. Loving father of the late Scott Malcak, Diane (James) Espinos and Therese Streuli. Devoted grandfather of Michael (Nina) Espinos, Melanie Espinos, Allison, Christian and Caroline Streuli. Dear great-grandfather of Penelope, James and Juliet Espinos and Ramesses Thomas.
He will be fondly remembered for many great times and laughter with his 3 nieces Janyne Hilfinger, Maribeth Casey and Patrice Rodkey and their families.

He attended Loyola University and received his Bachelor’s from DePaul University after serving in the US Military. He was a Program Director of the Catholic Youth Organization for 17 years. There he was responsible for establishing many programs which for many kids would have not had the opportunity to participate. He developed countless programs for all ages and especially designed programs for young children who adored him so much. He was a Park District Director in Westchester & Brookfield. He was an avid tennis player, swimmer, basketball player (free-throw champion) and golfer. He was a past President of The Society of American Magicians and amazed many children performing his magic and juggling act.

Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Cletus Church, 600 W. 55th St., La Grange for 11:00am Mass on Friday, March 12th. Group limit of 130 will be held at church. All guests must pre-register by Thursday, March 11th at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/sc_malcak. Unregistered guests will not be permitted into church. Please arrive a few minutes early to check in and be seated. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association. Arrangements entrusted to Hallowell & James Funeral Home, Countryside at 708-352-6500.

  1. Tony was a warm and loving husband to Lois and a great father to his kids Scott, Diane and Terry. Loved when he would do his magic tricks for the small kids. We’ll definitely miss him. Prayers for strength are being lifted up for him and his family.

  2. Being blessed by being a part of Tony’s family I will always remember that amazing smile. He gave and received love and excepted me and my children as part of the family. I am ever so great full to have been a part of that. Be happy Tony rest peacefully in Gods arms with your Lois and Scott. Till we meet again.

  3. Tony had such a kind heart and was such a giving person. May the grief in your heart today be replaced over time with the warm and loving memories you shared. God Speed Tony. I donation has been made to the American Heart Association in memory of Tony.
