Anita was a very special person. She was strong willed, caring, witty and loved her family and friends fiercely. She was retired from the U.S. Department of Labor/OSHA after 40 years of service and made many friends there over the years. In her younger days, she enjoyed fishing, boating and camping with her family. All of her life she was an avid reader, devouring books one after another; this was one of her favorite ways to relax. She loved being outside, spending time in her yard and gardening. She also entertained at her home with her husband Steve, hosting football nights on a regular basis.
Anita was a loving and dedicated wife to her husband Steve Wilkin; they shared most of their lives together and were devoted to each other. She was the beloved daughter of Anthony and Louise Mock. She was a wonderful big sister/sister-in-law to Carla and her late husband Bill Knotek, her late brother David Mock, Peter Mock and his late wife Kathi Mock, Leanne and Dave Brandt, Peggy Giordano, Chuck Wilkin and her late brother-in-law Dave Wilkin. She was also the caring aunt of her nieces Staci Anderson, Toni Mock, Nathan Mock, Rebecca Mock and Michelle Mock.
She was a kind and good person and a gentle soul; although she has moved on to heaven she will live forever in our hearts.
Visitation for Anita will be held Wednesday, July 7th from 3pm to 7pm with a service following at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th Street, Countryside IL.
My name is Sharon Vankinscott. Anita and I worked together for many, many years at OSHA. It is with my deepest sympathy to learn of her transition. May the Lord God comfort and strengthen the family and the peace of God overflow you in the days to come. God bless, Sharon V.
