Warren F. Hrstka, age 100, former resident of Hinsdale for 46 years, current resident of Downers Grove passed away on Aug. 4, 2021.  Beloved husband of the late Ruth, nee Rezny, for 70 years.  Loving father of Joyce (the late John) Stanley and Janet (Robert) Campbell.  Cherished grandfather to J. Scott Stanley, Julie (Luis Baena) Stanley, Jennifer (Jim) Thatcher and Jeremy (Jill) Campbell.  Adored great-grandfather to Kaylee and Cora Thatcher.  Fond brother of the late Anna (Richard Jelinek).  Warren was employed by General Motors for 45 years.  He started his career in 1938.  In 1954 he was promoted to chief of standards and in 1968 he was named superintendent of the engine division at EMD.  He was promoted to factory manager in 1977, a position he held until he retired in 1983.  Warren was a lifelong Cubs and Bears fan and held Bears season tickets for many years.  Services were held privately at Hallowell & James Funeral Home of Downers Grove with entombment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, a donation in Warren’s name to your favorite charity would be appreciated.  Funeral info 630-964-6500.
