George R. Staat, age 98, of Indian Head Park, formerly of LaGrange; beloved husband of the late Eleanor L. Staat for 72 years; loving father of Larry (Rose) Staat and Joyce (Richard) Wixson; dear grandfather of Gregory (Annie) Staat, Jessica (Benoit) Jacob, Charles Briton (Caroline) Lewis, Jr., Greta (Michael Halusek) Staat, Elizabeth (fiancé Timothy Wrona) Lewis, and Jonathan Lewis; adoring great-grandfather of Carrington and Jennings Staat, Jaqueline and George Jacob, and Charlotte and Charles Briton Lewis III. George and Eleanor were deeply grateful for the loving care provided by Janina Chrobak, their devoted caregiver of 19 years.

George retired from Electromotive Division of General Motors after 30 years of service and continued his entrepreneurial businesses until age 95. He was an inspiration to all his family and will be greatly missed.
