Roy W. Kasang
Roy W. Kasang, US Army Veteran, age 85, of Hodgkins passed away suddenly on March 21, 2022. Roy is survived by his beloved wife, Joanne G. Kasang; loving son, Christopher G. (Margaret) Kasang, Sr.; dear grandchild, Christopher G. (Teressa) Kasang, Jr.; cherished great-grandchildren, Connor, Hayden, and Tyler; brother, Gerald (Ginger) Kasang; and many other extended loving family. Roy was preceded in death by his sons, Jeoffrey S. and Gregory T. Kasang.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 2nd from 2 to 9pm, with a funeral service being held at 6pm, at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside.

Roy joined the Hinsdale Class of 1955 as a freshman. My husband and he ran track together and Roy won the West Suburban Conference high hurdles in 1953.He was active in the Variety Show and did have a great sense of humor.

I met Roy in 1968 when I first got involved in the union and Roy was a Union leader at the time I learned a lot from Roy and in 1972 when Roy went to management I got elected and replaced him on the Shop Committee. When Roy went to management he never forgot where he came from and treated his workers fairly when he went to labor relations he was tough bargainer i know i had to bargain grievances with him. Roy it was a pressure to have known you and you will be missed RIP brother
I worked for Roy as a Labor Relations representative for several years. He was such a knowledgeable leader and helped our group by sharing his experience and knowledge. He was a great trainer and person. We had sort of a wild fun group in Labor Relations and the time I spent there still comes back as my favorite assignment while working for EMD. Roy was instrumental in making this a fun group in which to work while learning. From the conversations he had with us, we learned that he was a great family man and loved his family very much and was very proud of them. Roy will be sorely missed by many. Marty White McGuire
