Frank was my guitar teacher, taking my first lesson from him in the spring of 1967 at Eddie Blazonczyk’s Bel-Air Recording Studio on west 47th Street in Chicago. He was my teacher, friend and mentor; but was also one of the reasons I quit the guitar. I soon realized I could never play at his level of expertise. Watching him perform in his living room or on stage was depressing knowing I was witnessing something I could never achieve. He had exceptional musical talent, being able to identify the most complex chords in any song he heard. We exchanged Christmas cards for the past 54 years and I will miss him. My condolences to Rita and his entire family.

Hi Steve, I am Frank’s daughter Marla, and just seeing this message. I am so happy to know you learned guitar from my dad. Everyone knew him for this! He would love you to continue playing, I guarantee it. Keep his legacy alive. My son plays now, inspired by grandpa. Thank you for your kind words. Please reach out to me if you need.
