Frank Daniel Ibach (“Dan”) died peacefully at the ripe old age of 96. His wife, Jean Rueckert Ibach preceded him in death in 2018. He was a strong, proud man, walking 2 miles daily til the very end, even as he became blind. He always had a positive outlook on life and his family was always his priority. His proudest achievements included serving in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War – he worked on the torpedoes in submarines, his long time career as an accountant, and being a great husband and father. He will be greatly missed by his daughters, Karen Ibach, Kim Ibach Teeters (Mike) and his one and only granddaughter, Nicole Teeters. Friends and family are invited for a graveside service on August 2nd at 11 am at Bronswood Cemetery in Oakbrook. Funeral info: 708-352-6500
Dan was the best. So was Jean. We loved each other’s schnauzers. They truly do not make them like Dan anymore, and that’s a shame.
As neighbors, we knew both Dan and Jean vey well. Before Dan got a caregiver, we would often take him to our local supermarket or doctors office. He was amazingly tough, walking to a local coffee shop most every day, often declining a ride because he said walking is what kept him going. We will miss him greatly.
Dear family and friends of Dan,
On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans, we offer our sincere condolences at Dan´s passing. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are always saddened whenever a fellow “Bubblehead” departs on Eternal Patrol. He served with honor in the U.S. Submarine Force.
To our “Brother-of-the-Phin” we say, “Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. Fair Winds and Following Seas.” Thank you for your service to our country.
To the family… “may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you.” 2 Thessalonians 3:16 (ESV).

National Chaplain, USSVI.
