Beloved husband of Christina (nee Contos); loving father of Cynthia (Jack) Teel, Kenneth, Melinda (George Vanovitch), Thomas, Daniel (Birgit), and Tracey (Michael) Parrillo; dear grandfather of Robert, Kevin, Olivia, Emmaleigh, Lillian, Lucia, Ellynor, and the late James; brother of the late Elizabeth Rohlwing and late Kenneth Hillmer; son of the late Hilda and late Henry Hillmer; uncle and friend of many. Vernon was a Veteran of the Army Air Corps, an avid golfer, boater, and Chicago sports fan who, after a dedicated 55 year career in sales, enjoyed spending his leisure time with family and friends at his summer home on Lake Marie.
