Dorothy Klimes

Dorothy Klimes, age 91 of Oakbrook, IL born on November 12, 1930 laid to rest on September 6, 2022

Beloved mother of Bob, Eddie (late), Geno, Brian and Tracy.  Cherished grandmother of Krista, Nick, Amy, Zahira, Jessica, Zach, Jordan, Tyler, Kayla and Anthony.

Great grandmother of Keegan, Leanna, Jack and Jordan.

If she could be described in one word, it would be “tough”.   Her dedication to over 47 years of service at North Riverside Country Club was something she was extremely proud of.

Her family always teased her about her second family, which were the members at the Club.  She worked hard, loved her job and the members loved her back.  The friendships she made over the years will never be forgotten.

She was a woman of strength and you always knew what she was thinking, especially if she disagreed with you.  She always put others before herself and continued to make sacrifices for her family and others with no questions asked.

Cooking her favorite meals when she had time and coffee and grocery shopping with her family seems like a simple task for some, but really meant a lot to her.

Heaven gained another Angel with her passing and there is no doubt that she has left her mark here on earth for those to emulate.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, September 11 from 3pm to 8pm (with a short Mass Service at 6pm) at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th Street, Countryside.

  2. To my dear friend and dance partner Tracy,

I am very sorry for your loss! I will always remember your mom telling us to not stay out late and to come straight home after our night out at Prime and Tender. Tracy spoke highly of her mother and loved her dearly. May you and your family always treasure the memories you have of your mother.

  4. Sending my heartfelt condolences and prayers to Dorothy’s entire family. Dorothy was our second mom at Riverside Golf Club. She took care of the Ladies Nine Hole Golf League with all her heart and soul. Her strength will remain admirable. I will miss our talks, her smile, her laugh and her hugs. She always knew how to make our events including the centerpieces, the gifts and the flowers sparkle. Her dedication to her RGC family will carry on forever and I will miss Dorothy beyond words. I love you Dorothy! xoxo, Amy Robins

  8. Dorothy was one in a million and will be deeply missed. She loved her family and the RGC members and their kids. She could swear like a truck driver but did not like to be fussed over! Greatful for the two times we worked together and the 2 weeks with her most recently in May! To her family, you all shared her with us and we appreciate that we were also loved by her!

  9. Sending prayers of peace and comfort in the loss of your mother, Brian. I’m sure she will be missed by all of your family. Sounds like she set a good example for many in her love and dedication. May God lift her into His arms and give her rest.
