Patricia S. Svehla
Patricia S. Svehla (nee Schoeler), age 86, of LaGrange; beloved wife of the late James J. Svehla for 65 years; loving mother of James J. (Denise) Svehla, Scott (Linda) Svehla, Susan (Bob) Buckles, & the late Sandra (Michael) McClain; cherished grandmother of Drew & Audrey Buckles, Abby, Jake, & Zach McClain; also a dear grandmother to Leeanne Farnand, Megan White, and Patrick, Scott, & Michelle Raddatz; aunt, cousin, & friend of many.
Patricia spent 4 years on the District 102 School Board, 16 years as a teacher’s aide in the district, volunteered in the classrooms and held several positions on the PTO.
Visitation 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Family & friends will gather at St. Francis Xavier Church, 124 N. Spring Ave., LaGrange, on Wednesday, September 21st for 10 a.m. Mass. Interment private. Memorial donations in Patricia’s name may be made to Breast Cancer Research Foundation or charity of choice.

Heaven gained another angel. Nothing but fond memories of Mrs Svehla. She helped shape me to become the person I am today. I think I spent more time in the Svehla household during 7th, 8th and 9th grade. She treated me like I was one of the family. She was a great cook and had the coolest handwriting! May she Rest In Peace.
