Robert “Bob” Connors

ConnorsRobert “Bob” Connors, age 55, of Chicago; loving husband of Frances Connors; proud father of Maddie & Jack Connors; cherished son of Marsha & the late Bob Connors; dear brother of Christopher Connors.

Bob was a brilliant, creative and driven man. He received his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University in 1989. He began his career as an Engineer at Air Liquide America where he designed equipment for large high-tech companies and was awarded 6 US patents. In his early 30’s, he pursued a career as a patent attorney. He received a JD from Loyola University graduating cum laude in 2000. He began his legal career with K & L Gates where he remained for 22 years. As a senior equity partner, he focused primarily on patent procurement and intellectual property litigation for the medical industry.

Despite his professional success, Bob was always humble and a man of simple pleasures. He enjoyed grilling for his family and friends, spending time with his beloved children, rehabbing and inventing things in his workroom, playing baseball with his over-50 team, golfing, watching the Chicago Bears every Sunday, and occasionally grabbing a cold Miller Lite at a local bar. When he could tear himself away from work, he loved traveling to the ocean and was pursuing his SCUBA license.

Visitation 3 to 9 p.m. on Friday, November 4 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. A private funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 5 at the funeral home. Private interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Forest Park.     A farewell from your Swedish friends and colleagues who you got to know over the years. We were devasted to hear the sudden news of your passing. We have always appreciated your professionalism and thorough competence and deep knowledge in all of the areas of our interactions. Above all, we have learnt to know you as a very kind and warm person, with a great sense of humor, who always had other’s well-being in mind, and who showed great respect for everyone. You will be very much missed. Our thoughts are with your wife, children, relatives as well as friends and colleagues at KLG. May you rest in peace.

  3. Bob and Chris grew up across the street from us in Western Springs. Bob and our son Tom were the same age and best friends. They graduated from LT together. After graduating from their respective universities, they shared an apartment in the city of Chicago. We watched as they grew into young men with successful careers to fathers with beautiful families.

    Marsha, Bob was always kind and polite to us. A real gentleman. We will miss him.
