We are saddened by this untimely passing of a wonderful Man, Business Owner and caring person. My daughter worked for him at Windy City. He couldn’t have been any nicer or helpful teaching her about the business and taking her to events that would help her grow. He was instrumental in her development and she was able to apply the teachings and things he taught her to her college classes in lighting design. His generosity of time, effort and spirit made a difference and our family is so grateful for the chance to learn and do the events. He is a hero in our family and we respect and admire him for all he did to help her grow. We are touched by his kindness and are honored to have known and worked with him. Sending love and peace to his family at this most difficult time.
My deepest and most sincere condolences to the Flaws Family and everyone at Windy City. John was a true professional at everything he did as well as really good and fair man to everyone. The world has lost yet another one of the good guys and all too soon. I will miss John. I am blessed that I had the pleasure of knowing him and working both with him and for him over several decades.
We are so very sorry for the loss of your beloved husband. You and the Flaws family are in our thoughts and prayers. Sending you love.

Much love

Before I knew what it meant to have a friend in this industry, John was my friend. My first rental vendor, my first stadium contract, my first major independent event: All produced with John. My production journey has taken me all around the world, currently in Africa. In deeply breaks my heart that I can’t be there for my friend and pay my respects. John truly you were loved and appreciated. Would not be where i’m at in my career without you and Randy. To the Windy City Music family thank you so very much for everything as always. I am so very sorry to learn of John’s transition. On behalf of myself, LJET Productions, UGEngineers, and our various clientele, we extend our sincerest condolences to both John’s wife, children & siblings; as well as Randy and his entire Windy City family.
We had a lot of fun. Trade show dinners, a lot of golf and a great professional business relationship. You were a great friend who never hesitated to pick up the phone and just call to talk. I’ll always remember how you lost 18 balls on the Boulders Golf Course in Vegas when we played with Ernie who was a former Tour winner. Ernie and I still talked about that day until he passed
I’m so sorry for your lost Dr. Flaws! Praying for you and your family’s peace and comfort during this tough time.

I met John & Randy 31 years ago when I walked into Windy City as a sales rep. We quickly became friends and shared many great times together. Working, golfing, having meetings over dinner and drinks. We shared a love for the White Sox and watched them win a World Series together. Many memories and many stories. John, you will be remembered and missed.
My deepest condolences to you Maribeth and your family
Sending so much love and condolences to the whole Flaws family. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.❤️❤️❤️
Sincerest condolences to the Flaws family and friends. I worked for John and Randy at Windy City from 1993-1999 – started my senior year of college. They were like big brothers to me – taught me more about the business than I ever learned in school or elsewhere. We also had so many good times up at the Glenview warehouse – hanging out at the nieghborhood bars, watching Bulls games, shooting pool, playing darts and Golden Tee. They gave me way more trust and responsibility than I ever deserved at that age – something for which I’m forever grateful. My heart goes out to Maribeth and family.
Maribeth,
