Ronald E. Szydlowski, age 93, of Countryside; beloved & devoted husband of Carmen (née Herrera) for 60 years; loving father of Christina (Lola Forbes) Szydlowski & Brian (Jennifer) Szydlowski; cherished grandfather of Sophia & Grace; loving brother of Rita Chvatal; loving godfather, & dear uncle, cousin & friend of many.
Ron was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army.

What a wonderful man and beautiful life. The memories he left means he will always be with you. He is another star in the heavens shining his light on all he loved. May you find peace in Ronnie’s memories.
Only the fondest memories of Ronnie. He will truly be missed by many. He lived a good long life, but time for him on earth is done. Now will be an angel watching over his family. You will be missed but will always be in our hearts. Rest in peace.

Ron was such a kind man. We grew up with him on the block and have many memories as kids.

Mr. Szydlowski was a neighborhood dad to all us kids. We knew if we had trouble he would help. if we needed a ride he would give it. It’s men like Ron that help shape me as an adult and I try and pay it forward to my kids friends. My thoughts are with his family but to my childhood family of Brian (Buddha) and Christina (Chris). My dad Hans Jacobs and Ronnie were childhood friends and knew each other almost 70 years. I know they’re both in heaven, joking around, having fun, and keeping the Good Lord busy!
