Diane Stipp of LaGrange, Illinois passed away on April 5, 2023 at the age of 75 after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.
She was born on October 12, 1947 in Webster City, Iowa to Marvin and Mary (Hill) Davis and was raised on a farm in Hamilton County before moving to Boone, Iowa as a teenager. After graduating from Boone High School, she attended the University of Iowa and graduated from the Iowa Methodist School of Nursing in 1969. She married Harley H. “Terry” Stipp on October 4, 1968 and was employed as a registered nurse at the Boone County Hospital for several years before moving to the western suburbs of Chicago in 1971. She continued her work in nursing at LaGrange Memorial Hospital, then at several private practices. She was most recently employed at Drs. Girgis& Associates before retiring in 2019 after 50 years in nursing. She was a passionate advocate for the many patients whose lives she touched, going above and beyond to assure that they received the best care she could provide. An animal lover from birth, she especially doted on the many cats she provided a home to over the years. She was a beautiful lady inside and out, and her contagious laugh and wry sense of humor will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley; her parents; her brother, Brian Davis; and brother-in-law, James Graham.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (James Nolan); sisters Fran (Bob) Sapp and Jeanine Graham; sisters-in-law Laura Davis and Rebecca (Dan) Young; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great–nephews and cousins; as well as her 18 ½ year old cat Lucy.
