Gary Walter Kazragis, age 71, of Chicago passed away on April 24, 2023. Beloved son of Walter (the late Shirley) Kazragis. Dear brother of Kimberly (Phillip) Richmond, Neal Kazragis, and Allison Kazragis. Loving cousin and friend to many. Inurnment at Queen of Heaven to take place privately at later date. Arrangements entrusted to Hallowell & James Funeral Home in Countryside.
I was pleased when i heard that Gary had recently moved back to the Chicago area. The connection between us had been broken long ago. Not deliberately, but by life’s vagaries and challenges which often take us in different directions. My memories of Gary are happy ones. Classmates at St. Catherine’s and at Marist. Visiting him at Dayton. Pickup basketball games in the backyard of the Kazragis home. Softball games at Mt Greenwood Park. His sense of humor and quick wit. He will be missed. I want to express my condolences to Mr. Kazragis, Kim, Whitey and Allison. May he rest in Peace.
Gary, you offered me the best paralegal position – best JOB – ever! I learned so much from you especially when you took me to Court with you to witnesss and assist you in trials. But the best part was the crazy sense of humor we both shared that made coming to work each morning something I looked forward to as opposed to the dread I felt with other jobs.
You were more than a boss – you were fun to hang out with on weekends. Going to the Rolling Stones Concert or driving up to Flagstaff on a Sunday to enjoy the scenery and shop at the Mall – you made everything fun.
Despite the ideal life you had in Sedona, you always talked about your family back in Chicago. I feel as though I knew Allison.
I wish I had looked you up in Chicago as St. Louis wasn’t that far away. But I’ve since come back to Arizona – Oro Valley this time.
RIP you knucklehead – see you again in the bleachers section that’ll be reserved for us!!!!
