Irene M. Halleck
Irene M. Halleck, 101, passed away peacefully supported by dear friends and family on Wednesday May 10, 2023. Irene was born June 19, 1921, in Thornbury, England. She was a long-time resident of LaGrange and most recently LaGrange Park. For many years she worked at Marshall Fields Oak Brook in the Fur Salon, where she met many wonderful people who became lifelong friends.
Her enjoyments were gardening, Bridge and having conversations with friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis G. Halleck, her mother and father Herbert and Edith Anstey and her 5 brothers and one sister. Surving her is her son David J. Halleck (wife Theresa Hohe) and their son Stephen Halleck; daughter Debra Teater (Bill) and their children Jake Teater, Alysha Teater, Abbie Rumbold, Gabrielle Litwiller, Jeremiah Teater, Hannah Dourado and eight great grandchildren.
The visitation will be on Friday, May 19 from 4 – 8PM at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside, IL where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 20 at 11AM. Irene was a wonderful neighbor and her garden/landscaping was beautiful. We enjoyed talking with her. she was always out in her yard gardening. We will miss her and always remember her.
Irene was a dear friend and always seemed time to talk. She had quite a history coming to the US and it was a delight to hear her speak of those times. My one son made the comment that he knew her his entire life and he is in his later 50’s. She was very ready to meet our dear Lord. May she rest in peace. Marilyn Vorsanger
