She was a loving aunt and cousin of many.
Irene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She devoted her life to her family and was the ultimate babysitter of all her grandchildren.
From her earliest days growing up at the 99th Street train station, to St. Margaret of Scotland, St. Bernadette and eventually St. John of the Cross, our mom centered our family in our Catholic faith. By example, our mom taught us how to raise our families in a loving and gentle way.
We will miss her every day.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Fight Colorectal Cancer are greatly appreciated.
Visitation 10am Thursday, May 18th at St. John of the Cross Church, 5005 Wolf Rd., Western Springs. An 11am Funeral Mass will follow. Burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park. Funeral information: 708-352-6500
Shari and family, I have many memories of your wonderful mom and grandmother. She was so kind and genuinely interested in what was going on in all of our lives. The pride for her family was ever-apparent in her beautiful smile; I adored being around her.
Rest in peace Mrs Haberkorn.
