Eugene J. O’Sullivan, 90, of Western Springs, Illinois passed away peacefully, surrounded by his children on January 8, 2024.  Beloved husband of the late Arlene (nee Klein) for 59 years; loving father of Cathy (George) Evans, Peggy Henderson, Paul (Lisa) O’Sullivan and Ann (Jim) Leifker; devoted Papa of Emily Evans, Tom Evans, Josh Henderson, Gavin O’Sullivan and Erin Leifker; dear brother of the late Beatrice “Pat” (late John) Culhane, the late John (Kathy), the late Edward and the late John T.; fond uncle of John, Tracy, Becky, the late Patty and the late Debbie.

Born in Chicago to parents John and Dora (nee Herlihy) O’Sullivan, Gene graduated from Presentation Grammar School, St. Mel High School and St. Joseph’s College. He went on to serve in the U.S. Army, stationed in Heidelberg, Germany. Gene was a dedicated employee of Montgomery Ward, Spiegel and the State of Illinois. Faith and family were most important to Gene.

Visitation 1 to 4pm on Monday, January 15th, at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55^th St., Countryside. Chapel prayers 10:15am from the funeral home to St. John of the Cross Church, 5005 Wolf Rd., Western Springs for an 11am Funeral Mass on Tuesday, January 16^th. Burial to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
