Rev. Cynthia A. Zolk
Rev. Cynthia A. Zolk, age 78, of LaGrange, Illinois; beloved wife of the late Toms C. Zolk; loving mother of Randall (Melissa) Zolk, Loren (Megan) Zolk, and Kimberly (Chris) Stromer; proud grandmother of 12; dear sister to Bill Sterling.
Cynthia was born on March 9, 1946, in Mexico, Missouri. She grew up in Boonville, MO, graduated from Boonville High School, and went on to earn a Bachelors in Education and Masters in Education from University of Missouri. Cynthia later pursued a Masters of Divinity from Garrett Evangelical Seminary. She served as a pastor in the United Methodist Church for over 30 years. Cynthia enjoyed spending time during retirement with her many grandchildren, singing in the choir at First United Methodist Church of LaGrange, having coffee or lunch with friends, and visiting her daughter and family in Buena Vista, Colorado.
A service will be held August 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of LaGrange, 100 W. Cossitt, LaGrange, Illinois. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Project Fire Buddies, Young Life, or D230 Foundation are appreciated.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Zolk family in these days. What a great lady.
We were so sorry to hear of our friend’s passing. We enjoyed a long friendship as our children grew and when we returned to the LaGrange FUMC.
So sorry for your loss. I remember her fondly from my childhood.
I served as Director of Music at Gary Memorial during Cynthia’s tenure there. She was thoughtful, understanding, and a fine pastor to many. Blessings on all the family.
She was an incredible person. So friendly and accepting of me and my wife into the church. I will miss singing with her.
she was an incredible friend, teacher and pastor. She will be missed, but never forgotten. Peace and comfort to the family at this time of sorrow. I am forever grateful for her presence and faithfulness in this life together. Sweet loving spirit with Missouri plain talk kick every now and then. Rest in Peace good and faithful servant.

Pastor Zolk drew me to the United Methodist Church 32 years ago. I was church shopping and was thrilled to find a female pastor (my first) who spoke to me.
You made it, Pastor Zolk! You’re living in God’s house. You shall not want ever again. Amen!
