Dorothy D. Russell, nee Parniewicz, age 86, of Downers Grove, passed away on January 9, 2025.  Beloved wife of the late Dennis P. Russell, Jr.  Loving mother of Theresa Russell, Paul Russell, Stanley Russell, Dennis A. Russell and Bernadette (Jonathan) Pankhurst.  Proud grandmother of Paul Jr., Christopher, Daniel (Stephanie, nee Olszewski) and Thomas Russell, and Lillian (Timothy, II) Whiteside.  Adoring great-grandmother of Maeve.  Dorothy worked as an elementary school teacher at several schools in the Chicago area.  She later retired from Encyclopedia Britannica in Chicago.  Dorothy was a longtime parishioner at Divine Savior Church in Downers Grove.  She will be remembered for her love of her family and her devout Catholic faith.  Visitation 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. Tuesday January 14^th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 301 75^th St., Downers Grove, proceeding to Divine Savior Church for Mass at 10 a.m.  Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Society of the Little Flower would be appreciated.  Funeral home phone 630-964-6500
