David M. Swanson

December 2, 1940 – February 17, 2025
David M. Swanson, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on February 17, 2025, at the age of 84. He was born on December 2, 1940, and led a remarkable life of service and dedication.
David had a distinguished career in commercial real estate, most notably with AT&T and later founded his own commercial real estate company, DM Swan Enterprises. He was also a proud and devoted member of the United States Navy, serving as a commander and embodying the values of integrity, discipline, and leadership. David was stationed in Naples, Italy in the 1960’s where he met his wife Ragnhild. David loved to travel around the world with Ragnhild and spent much time in Norway, her native country. His commitment to his family, his career and his country was unwavering, and his legacy continues to inspire those who knew him.
David is survived by his beloved wife, Ragnhild Swanson, his daughter Monica Liten DeNaut (Eric), and his cherished granddaughters, Chloe and Emma. His family was his greatest pride, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and strength.
David was preceded in death by his father C. William Swanson and his mother Lois Swanson; his brother Mike Swanson; and his sister Jane McWhorter.
Memorial visitation Wednesday, March 19th from 5:00 to 8:00pm at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Interment private.
