Irene Nelson, 85, of Darien. Beloved wife of the late William. Loving sister of the late Agnes (late Raymond) Ek, Mildred (late John) Julian, the late Gladys Watson and the late David (Connie) Watson. Dear aunt of Wendy Ek, John Julian, Pam (Greg) Streder and Laurie (Harold) Watson-Clapp. Visitation 10am until 12 Noon Friday, June 12 th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 301-75 th St., (at Fairview Ave.), Downers Grove. I want to express my condolences to Irene’s family. I worked with her at the American School where i was the guidance counselor when she was head of Student Services. She was a great person to work with when I had to consult with her and could always be counted on handle any issues that involved her department quickly and professionally. I feel honored to have been her friend. She was a gracious person, with a great sense of humor and I always enjoyed talking with Irene.
