Ruth M. Carroll, age 89, of Western Springs, IL; beloved wife of the late Charles G. Carroll; loving mother of Sharon (William) Eklund and Kathleen Hurban; dear grandmother of Hannah Mabel, Alyssa Nieto, Amanda Hurban, and Nadine Hurban; fond great-grandmother of Ty and Teke Nieto; sister of James Paul; aunt of Regina Fiala, who was Ruth’s special caretaker in the last months of her life, and many other nieces and nephews. Visitation 4 to 8pm, Wednesday Sept. 23 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Funeral service 11am Thursday, Sept. 24 at the funeral home. I miss Ruthie, part of my “lunch bunch” when I lived in and visited suburbia. She was my friend since sixth grade at Intermediate (Hauser Jr.) in Riverside. My sympathy to all of her family.
