Kenneth C. Maier, age 71 of LaGrange, IL; beloved husband of Kate (nee Kunis); loving father of David (Michelle), Kevin (Tricia), Karen (Steven) Mayse, Tim, Hannah (Michael) Peth, and Ali; dear grandpa of Hadley, Smith, McGregor, Henry, Oliver, and Ellie; brother of Avita (James) McMahon and David (Marjorie) Maier; son of the late Margaret and late Kenneth Maier; brother-in-law of Maggie Crotty, Geri and Dan (Therese) Kunis; uncle and friend of many. Visitation 3 to 9pm on Monday, September 28 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Funeral prayers 9am Tuesday, from the funeral home to St. Francis Xavier Church, LaGrange. Mass 10am. Interment private. I know that I need not tell you what a wonderful and kind man Ken was… his parting words to us were always “Oh no, you ladies are talking shop – time for me to leave” – but not before ensuring that our wine glasses were topped off and that the chips and salsa, which he loved, were put out. May he rest in God’s eternal peace.
