Barry C. Cicero
“What the fish!!”
Barry C. Cicero Age 71, U.S. Army veteran and longtime resident of Western Springs, passed away Friday October 2nd from lung cancer. Loving husband of 31 years to Patricia (nee Rizzo); Devoted father of Suzanne (Ronald) Tomasik, James Cicero, and Natalie (Mike) Durec; Proud grandfather of Dylan, Michael, and Nathan; Brother to Candace (Robert) Littiken, Claudia (William) Wendland, Cynthia (James) Peterson, and Carol (Daniel) Kremsreiter; Uncle and cousin to many. A graduate of St. Mel’s High School and DePaul University, Barry was heavily involved in alumni activities. Barry was a retired Director of Auditing at UFCW Union and Pension Funds. Barry lived life with a huge heart and devotion. He fiercely loved his family, was active in his church and community, was a sports fanatic, and lived and breathed the American Legion as a Robert E. Coulter, Jr. Past Post Commander, Past Fifth District Commander, and Past First Division Commander. Barry’s enthusiastic passion for life will be remembered by all those who knew and loved him. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 7th from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm (Post Everlasting Ceremony at 7:30 pm) at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St. Countryside, IL. Prayers Thursday, October 8th, beginning at 9:15 am from the Funeral Home to St. John of the Cross Church, 5005 S. Wolf Rd. Western Springs, IL 60558, for a Funeral Mass at 9:45 am. Interment Mt. It is with great sadness that I heard of this news of Barry’s passing. I will always remember him as a wonderful person and very helpful during my year as 1st Division President. Rest In Peace! Prayers and condolences to the family at this sad time.

I am sorry for your loss. Death of a loved one is never easy to endure. I am writing to share some comforting information with you.
The Bible holds out a beautiful hope for our loved ones who have died. John 5:28, 29 states that soon, “all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out”. Yes, just as in times past, there will be resurrections of the dead. This time, however, those brought back have the prospect of living forever. What a comfort to know that we will soon be reunited with our loved ones.
