Jeanne M. Caplice, age 89, of Western Springs peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2016.  Born in Chicago on March 20, 1926 to the late Alexander and Mary (Mae) McCurdy.  Beloved wife of the late William Francis Caplice Sr. whom she married on January 14, 1950.  As a devout Irish Catholic, Jeanne was loving mother to nine children: Mary Beth (Bob) Newman, Bill (Birdie), Jim, Tom (Kathleen), Dan (Linda), Bob, Jack (Meg), Michael (Catherine) and Tim (Michelle).  Adored grandmother of 29:  Katie (Adam), Beth, Kevin, Bill III (Rhianna), Lindsey (Josh), Colleen, Jack, Conor, Brett, Shay, MaryNell, Mac, Danny, Jeanne, Maggie, Anne, George, Jack, Jim, Brian, Lucy, Molly, Madeline, Kelle, Meghan, Michael Jr., Timmy, Charlie and Lilly.  Cherished great-grandmother of Jett.  Dear sister-in-law to the late Irene Zotti (Ray), and loving aunt to the Zotti children.

Jeanne grew up on Chicago’s west side neighborhood where she attended St. Lucy’s grammar school, Sienna high school, and later graduated from DePaul University.  She will be remembered as a loving mother and a special woman whose greatest joy was to spend time with her family and friends.

Visitation 2-8 pm Sunday Feb. 28 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55^th St., Countryside.  Prayers 9 am Monday Feb. 29 from the funeral home to Divine Infant Church for Mass at 10 am.  Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Assn. in memory of William Caplice, Sr. would be appreciated.  Funeral info 708-352-6500
