Mary Basilo Miller

marys photo cardMary Basilo Miller, of Burr Ridge, Illinois passed away peacefully at home on July 11, 2016. Mary was the youngest child of Luigi and Lucy Basilo, born in Chicago on October 5, 1923. She was preceded in death by her sibilings, Anna (Frank), Joseph (Lucille), Anthony (Gallie) and Carmella (Paul). Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband David. Mary and David raised their sons: David (Barbara), Dennis (Laura) and Mark (Debbie) in Midlothian, Illinois. Mary had a long career at Wayne Hummer & Co. as a Bond Trader. Upon her retirement, Mary moved to Burr Ridge, Illinois where she was a dedicated volunteer for Hinsdale Hospital in the gift shop for many years. Mary also was an active participant in the Burr Ridge Park District weekend trips and local programs. Mary was a proud student of the piano and enjoyed playing for her family. In addition to her children and their spouses, Mary is also survived by her loving grandchildren: Christopher and Lauren, Jennifer and Kathryn, Mark and Michelle. Her great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews will miss her dearly. Mary was kind, generous and fun loving in life. May her beautiful soul rest in peace. Visitation Sunday July 17, from 5 to 9pm at Hallowell & James Funeral Home 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside, where a chapel service will be held on Monday, July 18, at 10am. Interment Mt.   1. My mother, Virginia Clemento was Mary Basilo’s first cousin. Her father was Dominick Clemento, Lucy Basilos brother. She spoke often about Mary and the others as young children growing up in Little Italy. And how special the Basilo family was to her.

    I am very sorry about your family’s lose.
