Lilly SchaberLilly Sevall Schaber, age 105, of Western Springs, passed away on November 4, 2016; beloved wife of the late Robert James; cherished mother of Lynn and the late Robert (Karen) Schaber; devoted grandma of Jason (Abby) Schaber; adoring great-grandma of Emerson & Bennett Schaber; fond sister of the late Alice (the late George) Bourdage and the late Signe (the late Carl) Fregin; dear aunt of many nieces and nephews; daughter of the late Kerstin and the late Otto. Lilly was a professional violinist all her life: director of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in St. Charles 1930-1935; performed throughout northern IL with her sisters in the Sevall Sisters Trio 1935-1952; violin teacher at the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago 1962-1989; private violin and viola teacher 1958-2010; member of West Suburban Symphony Orchestra 1954-2010; member of Western Springs Music Club 1956-2016. Visitation Friday, November 11, 3 to 9pm at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Will lie-in-state at Grace Lutheran Church of LaGrange Saturday, November 12 from 9am until time of service, 10am. Interment at Union Cemetery in St. Charles.   1. Condolences to her family and peace, from the old neighborhood Alsen family, scattered across the nation.
    My Aunt, now in Palatine, Illinois, appreciated visiting with Lilly’s family during this time
    of their sorrow.
    I remember my Father, Stanley Alsen, telling us children how he and Lilly played kick-the-can
    on the way to and fro school. When Lilly and Stanley were very young, they stated to each other
    that someday they would get married!
    I believe I have a copy of the photo of the old time neighborhood group all dressed up for
    Halloween, including Lilly and Stanley.
    So sorry to hear. She ihas arrived at the heavenly destination now.
