Sr. Joan Gardner, C. S. J., 87, beloved member of The Sisters of St. Joseph of LaGrange, celebrating 69 years in Religious Life.  Beloved daughter of the late Donald and Gertrude.  Loving sister of the late Joseph and Donald.  She is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Visitation 3:30 to 9pm with Funeral Liturgy at 6:30pm Thursday, Mar. 2, 2017 at The Congregation of St. Joseph Chapel, 1515 W. Ogden Ave., LaGrange Park.  Final prayers and interment 9am Friday, Mar. 3, 2017 from the Chapel to Queen of Heaven Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to The Congregation of St. Joseph appreciated.  Sr. Joan taught at St. Francis Xavier, LaGrange; St. Joseph Academy, LaGrange Park; St. John Fisher, Chicago; St. Mary, West Chicago; St. Leonard, Berwyn; St. Hugh, Lyons; St. Attracta, Cicero and St. Isaac Jogues, Hinsdale.  She was Principal at St. John Fisher, Chicago; St. Leonard, Berwyn; St. Walter, Roselle; St. Celestine, Elmwood Park and St. Patricia, Hickory Hills.  Sr. Joan also served as Library Resource at St. Mary, Riverside.  All things Irish, Notre Dame sports, the Chicago White Sox and bingo were her hobbies.  Arrangements entrusted to Hallowell & James Funeral Home at 708/352-6500
