Gannon, age 77, of Western Springs, IL; beloved husband of 50 years to Virginia (nee Burke); loving father of Timothy (Shannon), Cara and John Patrick (Kelly); grandfather of Liam, Mary Kate, Nora and Bridget; brother of Frank (Emme), the late Michael (Meg) and the late Terrence (Carol); brother-in-law and uncle of many. Visitation 2 to 8pm Sunday, Sept. 10 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Funeral prayers 9:15am Monday, Sept. 11 from the funeral home to St. John of the Cross Church, Western Springs. Mass 9:45am. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside. Our love and prayers are with Virginia and family. John was such a good husband and father, as well as kind man with a wonderful sense of humor. Frank remembers how he and John shared as boys the experience of a joint paper route. He had a life well-lived, serving his family and his Lord.
