Dorothy A. Cochara

Dorothy A. Cochara, born October of 1934 in Chicago; a long-time resident of Darien, went home on June 19. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Bernice Cochara, and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Slowikowska-Cochara (nee Adamczyk) and her father, Joseph Cochara; also by her siblings, Stella Vodak, Staisy Cochara, Josephine Drogos, Helen Gerlick, Lottie Slowikowska, Louis Cochara, Louise Wisniewski, Walter Cochara, Frank Cochara, Francis Cochara, Joseph Cochara, and Edward Cochara. Dorothy was a graduate of St. Pius School, Chicago and St. Pius Commercial School before working as a secretary at Alden’s Mail Order Store. She had many jobs after that, most recently at Brookfield Zoo. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation 3 to 9pm Friday, June 22 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 301 75th St., Downers Grove. Funeral prayers 9am Saturday, June 23 from the funeral home to Holy Trinity Church, Westmont.   1. So sorry to hear about aunt Dorothy’s passing. She always had a way of making you feel special. I’m sure she has a special place in heaven.
