Richard (Pat) Bremer moved into eternity on Tuesday, January 1, at LaGrange Memorial Hospital. He was born March 17, 1929 (hence “Pat”) in Chicago, was a resident of Island Lake in his youth, Chicago, Oak Park and Countryside, Illinois, throughout his life. He is pre-deceased by his parents and two brothers, and survived by his wife of 41 years, Loretta Gratias-Bremer, and children Mike (Linda) Bremer, Linda (Tom) Mraz, and Jean (Leon) Hinton, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and his beloved cat, Ziggy.

Pat served in the Army between the conclusion of WWII and the beginning of the Korean Conflict. He started Quick Business Service in Oak Park , which he owned and operated  for 23 years.

He was a man of strong character and commitment to his wife and family. He loved working around his home, and had a special bond with children and animals, due to an unlimited capacity for kindness and good humor, which he exhibited to his very last hours on this earth.

Pat had a keen interest in all things medical. As such, he chose to donate his body to the Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois. There will be a celebration of his life at a later date. Memorials may be made to Brookfield Zoo, where he and Loretta held a membership for many years and where they spent many happy hours with family, or to a charity of your choice.
