Dr. Richard S. Vlier PSY.D. of Brookfield, Illinois; Rick passed away on December 30, 2018 at age 68. He is survived by his sister Carol (Ed) Ashby of Buena Park, California; preceded in death by loving parents Blaine & Mildred Vlier, and sister Margo Vlier; he will be missed by many dear friends & colleagues who were inspired by his kind and cheerful demeanor.  Rick was a deeply philosophical man who spent much of his time helping others and desired to please his Lord in even little things.  His career as a Professional Counselor & Psychologist was a great testament to this devotion.  Those wishing to celebrate Rick’s life are asked to meet directly at St. James at Sag Bridge Catholic Church, 10600 Archer Ave., Lemont for 11 a.m. Mass on Saturday, January 26. Interment to follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Estates where committal prayers and Military Honors by the U.S. Army will take place.
