Lucinda S. Gangler

Lucinda S. Gangler (nee Lau), 85, of LaGrange Park, IL formerly of Ludington, MI and Durand, MI died Wednesday, March 13, 2019.  She was the loving wife of the late Thomas J. Gangler.  She is survived by her children Polly (John) Gregory, Andy Gangler, Suzanne (Thomas) James and grandchildren Darcy, Kyle, William, Peter, Lucy and Mark.

She is the daughter of the late Edward A. and Alice Lau; sister of the late Mary Keesler, late Ed (Jean) Lau, late Carol (John) Darnton, late Betsey (Gill) Baker, Bill (Phyllis) Lau and Jim (Nancy) Lau; sister-in-law of Mitzi and Bob (Emma Lee); and aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Born in Flint, MI, Lucinda was a graduate of Michigan State University and Wayne State University.  She was a teacher, homemaker and volunteer.  She was an avid reader and supporter of libraries, member of the Ludington AAUW, long-time member of the Bay View Association and volunteer with the historical museum and archives, and long-time member of the First Congregational Church of Durand, MI.

Memorial donations may be made to the Durand Memorial Library, 700 N. Saginaw St, Durand, MI 48429.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 16 from 10am until time of service, 12pm at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Interment will take place privately.
