Endre ‘Bandi’ Ivan, age 91, of Indian Head Park; beloved husband of Selma for 59 years; loving father of Kristine (Elliott) Wall & Andrea Van Santen (Bob Scavone); proud grandfather of Jake, Mallory, Elliott, Angela, Kevin, & Lia; uncle & friend of many. Endre was a gentleman and a beloved neighbor, whom we will miss. His wit and knowledge brightened many of our days.

Endre was truly a gentleman who I loved and respected dearly. I had the pleasure of working with him as an architect from 1984 until his retirement. I was a young intern in the 80’s and Endre literally taught me everything about architecture and construction – especially those first several years when we were at John Macsai & Associates. He was so patient as a mentor and always took the time to teach and explain things. He really wanted us to learn, fully understand the issues, but mostly how to think. Working with him, John, and Al in those days was like practicing architecture as a family. I am so grateful for all that he gave me and so many other architects. I especially liked hearing about his family farm in Hungary, how they lived, made wine, etc. themselves. We are all so fortunate to have known him and I want to thank him for all he did to make this world a better place – including espresso in the office! So many wonderful memories. My condolences to Selma and family.
