Horwath, age 44, of Western Springs; beloved husband of Hariklia (nee Melegos) Horwath; loving father of Eleni & Sophia Horwath; cherished son of Robert Sr. & Marion Horwath; dear son-in-law of Eleni (the late Zacharias) Melegos; loving brother of Fran (Jim) Callahan, Robert Jr. (Nichole) Horwath, Jenny Salvino, Marianne (Michael) Iacovelli, John (Sarah) Horwath, & Sharon (Eric) Sereda; dear brother-in-law of Stavroula (Frank) Tonkovich, Stavros Melegos, & Lilia (Tom) Papadopoulos; proud uncle of Drew, Eva, & Joshua, Gianna, Mikey, Teddy, Madeleine, & Peter, Azalia & Eddie, Zacharias, Jackson, Eleni, Anthony, & Aristides; cousin & friend of many. Visitation 3 to 9 pm on Tuesday, December 10 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Family & friends will gather at Christ Church of Oak Brook, 501 Oak Brook Rd., on Wednesday, December 11. Joe will lie-in-state from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Service, 11 a.m. Interment at Clarendon Hills Cemetery.   1. What a remarkable man with an absolutely adoring wife and family. May God hold them in his tender care during this painful time and always.

  2. As an excellent banker and a wonderful human being, I will always remember Joe with his bright smile and his solid understanding of human nature. I will miss the opportunity to see Joe and to have his welcome counsel.

  4. Joe was a good friend I knew only a short time. But his advice to me really helped me in a difficult time. May God have mercy on him and his family. From God we come and to Him we return.
