Gilbert, age 55, of Downers Grove.  Beloved wife of Mark.  Loving mother of Jerome, Stephanie, Michael and Megan.  Cherished daughter of John and the late Dorothy Kish.  Dear sister of John (Joanne), Joe (Julie), Jim (Anne), Fr. Jerome, Diane (Scott) McCreary, Jeff (Noemi) and the late Dorothy.  Fond aunt and friend to many.  Visitation 3-9pm Monday April 4th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 301 75th St., Downers Grove.  Prayers 8:45am Tuesday April 5th from the funeral home to Holy Trinity Church in Westmont for Mass at 9:30am.  Interment private.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Illinois Family Institute would be appreciated.  Funeral info 630-964-6500

    My brother Mike called me this morning to share the very sad news of Debbie’s passing. I have though about her and about all of you all day today. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time. May the peace of our Lord be with you.

  5. Deb was a wonderful sister-in-law and aunt to our family. In fact Deb was more like the smart, kind, big-hearted sister I always wished I had. If one had a question about child rearing or about installing a dimmer switch, Deb had just the right answer for you.

    Constantly putting others’ needs before her own. Deeply Christian. Tremendous role model. Testament to her upbringing.

    Immensely proud of Jerome, Stephanie, Mike and Megan and rightfully so. We know that they will continue to make her proud. We hope that she is now enjoying a game of pinochle with her mother. Rest in peace.

  13. Debbie and I were roomates for two years at Newman House at the University of Illinois. I have the fondest memories of the good times we had together. Debbie will always remain in my heart as one of my best friends and I will miss her immensely.
