Deborah L. Gilbert, age 55, of Downers Grove. Beloved wife of Mark. Loving mother of Jerome, Stephanie, Michael and Megan. Cherished daughter of John and the late Dorothy Kish. Dear sister of John (Joanne), Joe (Julie), Jim (Anne), Fr. Jerome, Diane (Scott) McCreary, Jeff (Noemi) and the late Dorothy. Fond aunt and friend to many. Visitation 3-9pm Monday April 4th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 301 75th St., Downers Grove. Prayers 8:45am Tuesday April 5th from the funeral home to Holy Trinity Church in Westmont for Mass at 9:30am. Interment private. Deb was a wonderful sister-in-law and aunt to our family. In fact Deb was more like the smart, kind, big-hearted sister I always wished I had. If one had a question about child rearing or about installing a dimmer switch, Deb had just the right answer for you.
Constantly putting others’ needs before her own. Deeply Christian. Tremendous role model. Testament to her upbringing.
Immensely proud of Jerome, Stephanie, Mike and Megan and rightfully so. We know that they will continue to make her proud. We hope that she is now enjoying a game of pinochle with her mother. Rest in peace.
